Today Jolene left for China. She will be teaching English at a private school for the next three months. I took her to the airport via Uncle Ben's house. We left around 3:30 pm on Monday, May 28 - Memorial Day. When we got to his house we went to Culver's for supper then Ben gave us a tour of his gardens and ponds. We slept in his basement guest room. Both of us got about two to three hours of sleep. We were nervous about getting up at 2:30 am. We had to get up at that time to get to Chicago O'Hare by 5:00 am. I woke up at 2:00 am and laid in bed until Ben got us up at 2:30 am. He fixed two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on whole wheat for Jolene and fixed coffee.
We did get to the airport just before 5:00 am. We did not have any major problems other then me turning into the Hertz Car Rental while looking for shot term parking. Two nice Hertz' employees got us on the right road to the parking lot.
From O'Hare Jolene flies to Newark, then to Beijing. Jolene got checked in at the Continental terminal and then went through passenger screening. I left her at about 5:45 am and returned to Rudolph. Her flight is scheduled to arrive in Beijing around 12:45 am on May 30, our time (1:45 pm Beijing time).
